Completed in 2001, this scenic outcropping is part of the Window Falls trail system the Unturned Stone built in Hanging Rock State Park, in central North Carolina. A set of approximately 130 stone steps leads down to the falls. This landing with columns and protective railings is about halfway down the staircase and allows hikers a view of the falls through a natural ‘window’ in the ledgestone.
Dedicated in November 2006, the Osborne Tract is approximately a half mile long stretch of trail that winds through rolling meadows in eastern Tennessee. Designed by the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) to be accessible to everyone, the trail has no inclines greater than five percent and includes wider areas for passing traffic and resting. The accessible section of the trail culminates in a cul-de-sac with a scenic vista of Mount Rogers, the highest peak in Virginia.
