Last week we completed a small residential project, replacing a set of concrete steps with stone. The risers are built of Daggett Mountain stone and the treads are slabs of quarried Hooper’s Creek, chosen to match the dry laid sidewalk paving done by the homeowners.
At long last, the pool behind the River & Rock House has been completed and filled. The dark colored liner make it resemble a swimming hole more than a pool.
With the waterfall pump turned off, the pool becomes a silky mirror of the morning sky and the stones around its rim. The submerged walkway adds an interesting layer to the overall visual effect of the pool.
With the waterfall turned on, a surprising volume of water spills over the boulder feature. The waves and ripples play along the stonework, adding contrast and depth.
