The Unturned Stone

The weather cooperated and we got a full week in on the posts in the pool. To make sure we got the batter correct, we focused on the two deepest posts. Once they are all the same height, it will be easier to work them up together and see the balance of stones and the batter of the columns.
This is where we were at the start of the day on Monday. Note the icy, muddy pool. Sun and sump pumps to the rescue.

The Unturned Stone launched a new residential project in an upscale corner of Asheville last week. For the next few months a full crew will be working on several different aspects of the house and landscaping, including an incredible water feature with numerous pools and a sizable brook that runs underneath the house.

The first phase of the project has us working in one of the pools, building a stone veneer on the pillars that support the front deck. Some of the pillars will be partially submerged and will be fish habitat as well as a welcoming entrance to a stunning home. This is a view into the pool: two of the posts, before we began.
